Nappa leather over an elastic inner ring, cut in two tones so the grip faces sit a shade darker than the rest of the rim. It slides on as one sleeve and pulls tight without glue or lacing, and once it is on there is no shift under a hard turn. The leather is soft to the touch straight out of the packet rather than needing weeks to break in.
